The working principle and applications of the foot pedal forming equipment
December 12,2024

In the transportation industry, metal footrests are widely used on buses, trucks, engineering vehicles, and other equipment. They not only perform the function of bearing weight, but also need to have excellent anti-slip properties and corrosion resistance. The footrest forming equipment is the core for manufacturing this key component.

1. Working Principle
The foot pedal forming equipment adopts the cold bending and roller pressing forming process. It gradually forms the galvanized steel plate or aluminum plate into a foot pedal shape through multiple passes of rollers:
Feeding: The coil material enters the automatic unwinding machine, and after leveling, it enters the forming area;
Forming: It passes through multiple sets of rollers successively, gradually pressing out the required wave patterns, anti-slip ribs or holes for the foot pedal;
Drilling/Sealing: According to the requirements, drilling molds are configured to complete the anti-slip holes or stripes pressing, and finally cut according to the fixed length.
This continuous production method not only improves efficiency but also ensures the consistency of the finished product size.

2. Precision and Anti-Slip Features
Forming accuracy: The equipment's tolerance is controlled within ±0.5mm, ensuring a seamless connection for the foot pedal installation;
Anti-slip treatment: The roller wheel mold can be designed with flat ribs, arc-shaped ribs, or punched patterns, customized according to the vehicle's operating environment to prevent slipping in rainy or snowy weather.

3. Durability and Compatibility
Material selection: Commonly used are galvanized steel plates (for rust prevention) or aluminum plates (for lightweighting), with thickness ranging from 1.5 to 3.0 mm;
Life guarantee: The key rollers are made of Cr12MoV heat-treated steel, with surface hardness ranging from HRC58 to 62, which extends the lifespan of the molds;
Compatibility: It supports the production of various widths and thicknesses of foot pedals, meeting the different requirements of buses, trucks, and construction machinery.

Conclusion
The foot pedal may seem ordinary, but it is crucial for traffic safety and user experience. Through the precise control of the cold bending forming equipment, not only is efficient production achieved, but the slip resistance and durability of the product are also ensured. For customers, reliable foot pedal equipment means lower maintenance costs and higher usage safety.
