The key process for cutting the corrugated panels of the high-speed guardrail
January 12,2025

In the production of guardrail panels, the cutting process is often overlooked. However, in fact, the quality of the cutting determines the tightness during the assembly and the overall line shape of the guardrail panels.
1. Tolerance of fixed length
The cutting of guardrail panels generally requires a ±2mm length tolerance. By using servo tracking fly sawing, the cutting tool moves synchronously with the sheet, avoiding the "chewing" phenomenon.
2. Tool material
Most cutting tools use Cr12MoV heat-treated steel, with a hardness ranging from HRC58 to 62. This ensures sharpness while prolonging the tool's lifespan.
To avoid chipping when cutting thick plates, the cutting tool's edge will undergo secondary fine grinding treatment.
3. Cut quality
After cutting, the requirement is for a smooth fracture surface without obvious burrs or tears. Some equipment also installs an online grinding device to further improve the cut quality.

Conclusion
The cutting of the guardrail profile plates is not a "simple one-step process", but rather a complex system engineering that involves the combination of materials, tools, and a synchronized control system.
