The energy absorption box requires preset creases and grooves, and these structures must be uniform and accurately positioned;
If the creases are too deep, it will cause premature fracture;
If the creases are too shallow, the energy absorption effect will be lost.
Key features of the equipment:
The in-mold punching and embossing process of the forming machine can ensure that the crease lines are straight and of consistent depth;
The pass arrangement must consider the material flow direction to avoid tearing at the bending point;
During production, online laser detection must be coordinated to promptly detect uneven creases.
For customers, the process control of the energy absorption box directly determines whether the vehicle can pass the frontal/offset collision tests, which is the core concern of the OEM.
